Paul Harding squeaked into third place in the play-off for the Chalice, which was probably more than he deserved. If you think it didn't deserve that, cop a load of this: he also won a free franchise by winning the play-off.

The Chalice takes on a certain significance now as the top teams in the top two divisions go head-to-head for glory. Once it is over and the dust has settled they can have a go at each other once again at the auction!

Due to the extra fixtures last week, this round will be played this week (Week 11) to straighten the calendar out. If there are no draws requiring replays, the round of 8 matches will be played the following week (Week 12).

That’s it for this week. Unfortunately, Fantasy League is now wiping off the weekly report almost as soon as it appears! Bloody stupid as that sounds, but it is a fact. Consequently, I can’t get details of who has done what for whom! I see from the FL website that a printable league report is in development – to be back-datable – and I am trying to find out when that will be about. I’ll keep you posted.

All this means I will have to change tack on The Fogghorn in the short term and probably write up reports from sketched notes compiled over the weekend – a chore, but there appears to be no alternative. The other alternative is to write it up on Saturday night and then add to it on Sunday - messy. However, as the scores on the weekend are only ever provisional – as I understand it – until they are confirmed on the Monday or Tuesday, I may be reporting inaccuracies!

I am still of a mind to write to Andrew Wainstein about the shambles they have created this time around and would appreciate any comments you can supply me with for ammo.
